Start Fall Right With These Skin Care Tips

Fall skin care tipsWelcome the fall season with rejuvenated, beautiful skin. Tweaking your beauty products and making other adjustments to your skin care regimen can keep you look radiant throughout fall. Below, Dr. Steven Robinson of Ohio Plastic Surgeons lists some of his favorite beauty tips for fall.

Moisturize and Exfoliate

A lightweight moisturizer or skin serum is great for summer, but cooler weather calls for a heavier cream or oil-based moisturizer. The heavier cream can give you the extra boost of moisture needed to combat the fall and winter weather. Continuing to wear sunscreen throughout the fall is also important, as the sun’s harmful ultraviolent rays can penetrate clouds and still reach your skin. Always use sunscreen with a sun protection factor of at least 30. Are you shopping for a new moisturizer and/or sunscreen? Try the A-CuteDerm skin care line, which features the finest sunscreen and moisturizers to keep your skin healthy and bright.

Exfoliating with a gentle oil-based scrub once or twice a week can help release dead cells that accumulate on your skin and help make way for a new, healthy layer of skin. Dr. Robinson offers his patients SkinMedica, a line of skin care products that includes a fragrance-free exfoliator that cleans the face while it exfoliates for a fresh, clean appearance.

Change Your Makeup

If you spent time under the summer sun, you were likely left with a tan that will soon fade away. Now is the time to shop for a new foundation color that matches your natural skin tone. Be sure to opt for a matte based foundation for a more polished look. Exchange your lip gloss for lip balm to prevent your lips from getting chapped in windy, dry weather. You can also consider trying the Jean Youngblood cosmetics line, which is mineral based makeup that hydrates and does not clog pores.

For younger-looking eyes, Dr. Robinson offers SkinMedica’s TNS Eye Repair. This product can eliminate fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area and alleviate the appearance of saggy, puffy eyelids.

Try a Skin Treatment

At Ohio Plastic Surgeons, we offer a variety of nonsurgical cosmetic treatment options that will help you care for your skin this fall. The New Face of Skin Care treatment is a personalized skin care program tailored to meet your skin care needs. The treatment can include a microdermabrasion treatment, which helps shed the superficial layers of your skin, promoting collagen regeneration in the process. The result is smoother, more evenly textured skin. Your treatment plan may also include chemical peels or micropeels, which remove the damaged outer skin layers to reveal a healthier, more radiant complexion.
